Holiday airlines such as Thomas Cook also fly there FLYTHOMASCOOK and are excellent for late deals on flights, so if you want to book late, keep an eye on their website.

There are also flights going to Izmir from all UK airports with many are very competitively priced so make sure you check them them all out.

Other companies which are good for flights are DIALAFLIGHT or THOMASCOOK and also try EBOOKERS and for low cost flights to Bodrum Airport please try EASYJET or MONARCH or FLYTHOMASCOOK or LUFTHANSA

It is thought that low cost airlines will soon be flying to Izmir from the UK.

If you fly to bodrum airport, it is a little further that Izmir in terms of transfer time to Kusadasi, but you can often save a significant amoutn of money on flights so please explore all options. The transfer time from Bodrum is about 1.5 hours.

The Beach

The most popular beach in Kusadasi is Ladies Beach (click image for larger picture) and it is only a 5 minute walk away from the Villa (about 150 metres). Ladies beach always has watersports available (parasailing, Jet Ski, banana boats & rings),beach volleyball etc, and a selection of shops. A range of welcoming bars and restaurants align the sea front, opening early for breakfast and serving late into the night.

Other beaches are a short Dolmus ride away (a mini bus, which drives along set routes and stops wherever you request). Long beach is approximately 12 miles long and is divided (not physically) into sections such as silver beach, paradise beach, ladies beach and Love Beach. This stretch of coastline is more relaxed and you can have large sections of the beach all to yourself.

Milli Park (National Park) is a beautiful park with wildlife and a lovely undeveloped beach. It takes about 35 minutes by Dolmus, but it is worth the trip due to the sheer beauty of the Park.

The Local Shops and Restaurants

There are a selection of shops and restaurants locally along Ladies Beach and there is an abundent supply in the Centre and in the Marina. You can take a short walk to the local shops where you can pick up all your essentials and there are also numerous supermarkets nearby where you can stock up. The nearest large Supermarket is Migros.

Kusadasi is full of restaurants, and you can find food to suit all tastes within the resort. Ladies beach has plenty to choose from and the bussling centre has an endless supply of restaurants to suit all budgets and tastes in food. But, remember to keep an eye for where the local's eat......often they serve the best food as well as being more reasonably priced. A great one is Mezgit Restaurant by the Marina. The sea food is exceptional and so is the local Turkish dishes that they serve.

In addition to the shops, there is a food & fruit market which runs every Tuesday and this is located about 100m from the Villa. You will find here, the cheapest and best tasting produce you are ever likely to find (from saffron to Turkish delight). There is also a large Friday market in the Centrum selling all your fake designer clothes and shoes, genuine leather handbags and belts, hand made rugs and lace tableclothes, plus much more.

Kusadasi Centrum (Centre)

Kusadasi Centrum is about 15 minute walk from the Villa, or alternatively you can take a 2 minute Dolmus or taxi ride. Remember, the Dolmus regularly runs past the entrance to the estate, so you will always find one ready to pick you up, and return you home from the Centrum at the end of your evening.

In the centrum, you will find a bustling town full of shops, cafes, restaurants, bars and nightclubs...........and one thing is guaranteed, you will get bargains galore! There is a wide range of bars to suit all, including bars with live music, karaoke bars, relaxed atomospheres, themed pubs and traditional Turkish bars. For others there are the more loud upbeat bars/nightclubs where you can party the night away until 05:00, generally situated down Bar Street..

There are market stalls, shops, hairdressers, barbers, Burger King, tour operators, estate agents, banks, rug shops, leather shops, jewellers.............the list is endless, all open late into the night. And remember to haggle, haggle and haggle again!!

The official currency is Turkish Lira (YTL) but almost everyone accepts Euro's and Pounds. One of the best places to buy currency seems to be www.travelex.com especially when you pre-order and collect the currency from the airport from which you depart from in the UK.
